How to Register Your
Child

Securing your child’s spot at Tiny Genius Daycare is a
simple process. We’re excited to welcome new families
for our July 2025 opening, and we’ve streamlined
registration to make it as convenient as possible for
busy parents.

Process

Required Documentation

1. Complete the Online Registration Form

Fill out our comprehensive online registration form with your family's information and your child's details. This helps us understand your needs and preferences.

2. Pay the $75 Reservation Fee

A one-time $75 reservation fee secures your child's spot in our program. This fee is non-refundable and goes toward processing your application and preparing for your child's arrival.

3. Receive Confirmation

Within 2 business days, you'll receive an email confirmation that your registration has been processed and your child's spot has been reserved.

4. Complete Additional Documentation

After confirmation, you'll receive access to our parent portal where you can complete and submit required documentation before your child's start date.

5. Attend Parent Orientation

Prior to our July 2025 opening, you'll be invited to attend a parent orientation session to meet our staff, tour the facility, and learn more about our programs and policies.

6. Begin Your Tiny Genius Journey!

We'll work with you to create a smooth transition plan for your child's first days at Tiny Genius Daycare.

Required Documentation

After your initial registration is confirmed, you’ll need to provide the following documents before your child’s start date. These can be uploaded through our secure parent portal or brought to our parent orientation session.

For Your Child:

Birth certificate or other proof of age
Alberta Health Care card
Immunization records (or exemption documentation)
Recent photograph

For Parents/Guardians:

Government-issued photo ID
Emergency contact information (for at least 2 contacts)
Authorized pick-up list with photo ID for each person

Health and Medical Information

– Medical information form
Allergy information (if applicable)
Medication authorization (if applicable)
– Special dietary requirements (if applicable)
– Individual support plan (if applicable)

All forms will be provided through our parent portal after your registration is confirmed. Our staff is available to assist you with completing any documentation if needed.

Is the $75 reservation fee refundable?

The reservation fee is non-refundable as it secures your child's spot and covers administrative costs associated with processing your registration. However, this fee is applied toward your child's enrollment at Tiny Genius Daycare.

When will I know if my child has secured a spot?

You will receive email confirmation within 2 business days of submitting your registration form and payment. This confirmation will include details about next steps and accessing our parent portal.

What happens after I submit the registration form?

After submission and payment, you'll receive a confirmation email with login credentials for our parent portal. Through the portal, you can complete additional required forms, upload documents, and access important information about our programs.

Can I register for part-time care?

Yes, we offer both full-time (100+ hours/month) and part-time (50-99 hours/month) options. You can indicate your preference on the registration form.

How far in advance should I register?

We recommend registering as soon as possible, as spaces are limited and filling quickly for our July 2025 opening. Early registration ensures you secure your preferred schedule and program.

Can I change my child's schedule after registering?

Schedule change requests can be submitted through our parent portal and will be accommodated based on availability. We require two weeks' notice for any schedule changes.

What if my child isn't old enough for enrollment when you open?

You can join our waitlist for future enrollment. We accept children from 19 months to 4 years of age.

Do you offer sibling discounts?

Yes, we offer a 10% discount on the second child's tuition when siblings are enrolled concurrently.

How do the affordability grant rates work?

As one of the few privately incorporated daycares with Alberta Affordability Grant eligibility, we're able to offer significantly reduced rates: $326.25/month for full-time care and $230.00/month for part-time care. These rates are automatically applied—no additional application is needed.

Waitlist Information

If your preferred program is full at the time of registration, we encourage you
to join our waitlist. Here’s how our waitlist process works:

Joining the Waitlist

1. Complete the same registration form, indicating your interest in being placed on the waitlist
2. Pay a reduced waitlist fee of $25 (applied toward your registration fee when a spot becomes available)
3. Receive confirmation of your placement on the waitlist within 2 business days

Waitlist Priorities

Spots are generally offered in chronological order of waitlist registration, with priority given to:
– Siblings of currently enrolled children
– Families needing full-time care
– Families transferring from partner childcare centers

Waitlist Updates

– You’ll receive monthly updates on your waitlist status
– You can check your current position through our parent portal at any time
– We’ll contact you immediately when a spot matching your preferences becomes available
– You’ll have 48 hours to accept or decline an offered spot

Tuition and Fees

At Tiny Genius Daycare, we’re committed to providing exceptional care at affordable rates. As one of the few privately incorporated daycares with Alberta Affordability Grant eligibility, we offer quality programming at significantly reduced prices.

Monthly Tuition Rates (Effective July 2025)

Full-time Care (100+ hours/month)
– $326.25 per month ($15 per day equivalent)
– Includes all program activities and materials
– Morning and afternoon snacks provided

Part-time Care (50-99 hours/month)
– $230.00 per month
– Includes all program activities and materials
– Morning and afternoon snacks provided

Additional Fees

One-time Fees:
– Registration Fee: $75 (non-refundable, due at registration)
– Waitlist Fee: $25 (applied toward registration fee when a spot is accepted)

Potential Additional Fees:
– Late Pick-up Fee: $1 per minute after closing time
– NSF Payment Fee: $25 per occurrence
– Late Payment Fee: $20 if payment is received after the 5th of the month

Payment Information

Payment Schedule:
– Monthly tuition is due on the 1st of each month
– First month’s tuition is due two weeks before your child’s start date

– Pre-authorized debit (preferred)
– E-transfer
– Credit card (3% processing fee applies)

Subsidy Compatibility:
Our program works with additional childcare subsidies for eligible families. We’re happy to provide guidance on applying for additional subsidies if needed.
